Dentist’s preferences on vital and nonvital tooth bleaching

Aim: The present study aimed to investigate if the Guatemalan dentist’s options on tooth bleaching could be influenced by their time in clinical practice, level of specialization or working place. Methods: A representative sample dentists practice Guatemala was selected. Data were collected using a self-administered questionnaire with information related gender, professional characteristics (time since graduation years and place) preferences regarding vital (at-home in-office; type concentration agent) nonvital (bleaching agent used). analysis performed association between preference for technique independent variables investigated Fisher’s exact test. Results: 200 interviewed. More than half male (57.0%) 11 20 (n= 64; 32.3%). Dentists mostly (60.5%) preferred in-office bleaching, 10-20% Carbamide peroxide (CP) as (50%). For teeth, (46.8%) 37% Hydrogen Peroxide (HP). About associations, younger (< graduation) selected technique, while those more indicated at-home technique. Also, private chose frequently Thus, popular among dentists, CP HP favorite agents techniques, respectively. Conclusion: place some choices.
